Music Association, will hold an international Music In New Technology (MINT) meeting between 1pm and 4:30pm on Friday, January 5th, 2018.  MINT is being held concurrent with Upstream Music Association’s OPEN WATERS 2018 new music festival.  MINT asks the question:  How can advances in new technologies change the experience, from the musician’s perspective, of making music, and, from the audience’s perspective, of listening to music?  Our keynote speaker will be American composer, performer, improviser, and music technologist Dirk Johan Stromberg.  His work explores the dynamic interaction between performer, technology, and performance.  He makes computer instruments for beginner students to complement his own unique instruments, the Phallophone and Strombophone.  https://dirkstromberg.org
